Explanation of my mask and its message
This mask was created especially for me by the artist Joko Avianto, as part of the Maskbook campaign for the 5th anniversary of the Paris Agreement.

Here is his message:
The seseg or sasag is a type of bamboo weaving made up of horizontal and vertical intertwining. The seseg is very popular among the Sundanese population, where it is associated with a divine philosophy of nature and the human.
This relatively simple motif is loaded with both microcosmic and macrocosmic meanings. This braiding is used in the form of containers or even fences for houses. The seseg is created in response to nature. The symbols of strength and resistance associated with the seseg motif are used to make this mask, reflecting our condition in this time of pandemic.
