Workshop, NYC, USA, with alt_break Art Fair

Maskbook is a highlight of the 2018 alt_break art fair, a free and accessible contemporary art programming and exhibitions festival that takes place in NYC. alt_break is an annual event that takes place during the NY Art Week in early March each year, partners with different nonprofits and artists and highlights how contemporary art plays a role in community building.

Coinciding with the Armory Show, alt_break's 2018 iteration, "grounded", seeks to highlight ways in which grassroots efforts can come together to make a positive impact on environmental stewardship and takes the Earth’s natural resources as its focal point. A Maskbook workshop is a highlight of alt_break 2018's interactive day of activities, taking place on Sunday, March 11 at Independent Curator's International (ICI), 401 Broadway. The general public is invited to come create masks with a message and join the global, engaged work of art on maskbook.org ! Other activities include postcard-making to support plastic bag ban efforts; and a mini anti-DAPL 'mirror shield' making workshop inspired by Cannupa Hanska Luger's Mirror Shield project.
